NAGANO

Located just a few hours northwest of Tokyo, the 1998 host of the Winter Olympic games, Nagano, showcases its glamorous natural beauty in both the winter and summer seasons. Full of great campsites in the summer and ski resorts in the winter, Nagano has a treasure trove of activities to keep you amazed. Visit Nagano’s historic pride, Zenkoji temple, which is the largest wooden temple of Eastern Japan. Nagano is also known for their image of the snow monkeys bathing in the steaming baths of Jigokudani Onsens against the backdrop of pure white snow.

MATSUMOTO

Cradled by the Japan Alps is the historical, captivating city of Matsumoto. The area is most known for the stunning castle Matsumoto Jo, but the hot springs, ski runs, hiking trails, and Nakamachi Street, a district lined with wholesale and old merchant houses, are not to be ignored.

KARUIZAWA

Karuizawa is home to many historical Japanese summer houses that the upper class often stayed in ot escape the heat, which many of the resort hotels and shopping districts to recreate this experience. Stroll through Old Karuizawa red brick street of 600 kilometers consists of tailored restaurants, cafes, and other retail shops. Turn into smaller allies and you will even find other attractions such as Karuizawa Taliesin and Kumoba Pond. In the winter, try out the snow white ski courses of Karuizawa Prince Ski Resort and jump into the hot spring to end the day with a warm bathe.

TAKAYAMA

A preservation of historic touch, Takayama is a rural town of tradition and lively festivities. Located between the mountains and rice fields, the narrow streets are lined with houses of merchants from the Edo-period, making it feel as though you really have traveled back in time. The area provides you with many opportunities to learn more about their history at one of their many museums and immerse yourself in the culture at one of their festivals.
